About me
I am self-driven language teacher seeking the opportunity to foster my personal and professional career through the education field. I come from Bogotá, Colombia and I am currently a master's student in Master of science in Learning and Teaching Technologies (MALTT) at University of Geneva. I have +5 years of experience in second language teaching, curriculum development, materials and cours design.
I love exploring the world, learning from those around me and I have a real commitment to positively impact society through my profession.
Professional experience
During my professional career I have worked in different educational scenarios.
- Au pair
- In 2016, as part of my interest in having a cultural-immersive experience, I formed part of the Au Pair program in the USA with the company Cultural Care for whom I was nominated as best au pair of the year in 2018. This allowed me to acquire experience regarding child development and building up skills to pursue personal learning and growth goals in an international setting.
- Teacher
- During my teaching practicum, I had the opportunity to work in several public and private institutions in Bogota. I taught English as second language and Spanish to students from all levels and ages. I also supported the curriculum design for some institutions and adapted lesson plans for the inclusion of special needs' students in the class.
- Volunteer
- I also worked as English teacher volunteer for a student's organisation at the University of Fribourg. The public was adult migrants interested on improving general communication skills in English. I planned and delivered lessons to English learners from A2 to B2 levels.
