STIC IV - Mission broderie

Je fais suite au cours STIC IV (Sciences et Technologies de l'information et de la communication IV) que j'ai suivi durant le semestre d'automne 2017-2018. Le thème d'étude de cette session était la broderie effectuée avec une machine à broder au moyen du logiciel Design Era. Anti-Pilling	A treatment applied to the garment to prevent pilling, or the formation of little balls of fabric due to wear.	Anti-Pilling treatment
Appliqué	1) Decoration or trim cut from one piece of fabric and stitched to another to add dimension and texture. If appliqué occupies a significant amount of the design, the stitch count is lower. 2) In schiffli embroidery, an embroidered motif, hand cut or aetzed away from the base fabric. Backing	Woven or nonwoven material used underneath the item or fabric being embroidered to provide support and stability. Can be hooped with the item or placed between the machine and throat plate and the hooped garment. Available in various weights and in two basic types - cutaway and tearaway. Balboa Stitch	A technique used to produce tone-on-tone designs that feature the actual stitches as a background and give the fabric prominence. Has an embossed appearance.	Balboa Design Package
Blending	A digitizing technique that makes different colors of thread flow together in a more pleasing manner. Relies heavily on variable densities. Gives a design a more realistic, 3-D look	Blending
Buckram	Coarse, woven fabric stiffened with glue, used to stabilize fabric for stitching. Commonly used in caps to hold the front panel erect.	Buckram
Cartoon	Finished artwork of an embroidery design to be digitized. Usually six times larger than the finished design size, based on the art-to-stitching ratio historically used in the schiffli industry.	Vectorizing a drawing
Chenille	Form of embroidery in which a loop (moss) stitch is formed on the top side of the fabric. Uses heavy yarns of wool, cotton or acrylic. Created by a chain stitch machine that has been adjusted to form this stitch type. In North America chenille is most commonly recognized as the emblems and letters sewn on letterman’s jackets. Historically chenille has had many uses in fashion and furnishings, from delicate work of lace to the bold look of school mascots, chenille is a form of embroidery most of us recognize. Colors	Colors in embroidery art can be chosen at the begining of work or adjusted with embroidery mashine.	Colors in the Art-to-Stitch process
Cross-Stitch	Regular bean stitch movements forming x's in rows or within a box shape to form geometric designs. Creates a handmade appearance.	Fichier:Christmas-1076358 640.jpg Cross-stitch
Crystal Heat Transfers	Metallic studs or crystals strategically placed to form a design. While this can be done by hand, most of the time that method is too time-consuming to be cost effective. Ready-made transfers are available, and custom transfers can also be ordered from some companies. New to the embroidery industry are both stitch designs and apliqués that have accompanying transfers specifically calculated to fit and enhance the embroidery.	Hotfix
Debossing	Depressed imprint created by a machine pressing a dye into the surface of fabric or material. Popular in leather decoration.	Embossing & Debossing
Digitizing Tablet	A computer-aided design device used by digitizers to plot needle penetrations for embroidery designs. Typically, a pencil drawing of the design is enlarged and then taped to this tablet. The digitizer then uses a device known as a puck to indicate stitch types, shapes, underlay and actual needle penetrations.

Qui suis-je?

Je suis une étudiante du Master Maltt, de la volée Wall-e. Mes noms de famille bizarres s'expliquent par le fait que je sois brésilienne (Farias) et mariée à un Suisse (Hofmänner).

Comment est-ce que j'occupe mon temps ?

Je travaille à 80% en tant que formatrice d'adultes, responsable pédagogique, secrétaire comptable et traductrice-interprète (portugais-français). Je prépare les travaux nécessaires pour le Master à environ 80%. Le reste du temps je dors.

Qu'ai-je fait de ma vie jusqu'à présent ?

Ce qui était facile

• Bachelor en Lettres – Université fédérale de Rio de Janeiro (1982 – 1987) – langue et littérature portugaises et françaises
• Brevet fédéral de formateur d'adultes – 2009-2012
• Diplôme de secrétaire – Ifage – 1989-1990
• Travailler comme secrétaire depuis 26 ans (10 entreprises ou institutions jusqu'à présent et plusieurs branches différentes)
• Travailler comme formatrice d'adultes depuis 11 ans (6 écoles jusqu'à présent, plusieurs branches mais majoritairement la bureautique)

Un peu plus difficile

• Diplôme d'aide-comptable – Ifage – 2013-2014
• Créer une école de portugais langue étrangère pour les enfants brésiliens résidant à Genève (Association Raizes) et la diriger bénévolement pendant 6 ans
• Elever 4 gamins, difficile surtout lorsque les carnets scolaires disparaissaient

Vraiment très, très dur

Le Master Maltt est absolument hors-concours.

Deux pays, plusieurs amours

Ce qui me manque de Rio de Janeiro

• La plage
• Les amis et la famille
• La décontraction
• La langue
• Mon travail de correctrice grammaticale

Ce qui me plaît à Genève

• La façon professionnelle de travailler
• La langue
• Le fait que tout travail mérite un salaire et doit être respecté
• Les bonnes conditions de vie (école, assurance maladie, salaire, etc.)
• Le lac en été
• Les amis et la famille
• Me déplacer à vélo
• Etre dans le centre de l'Europe (et voyager autour)

Ce que j'aime vraiment faire

• Aller à la plage (à défaut, au lac)
• Lire des romans policiers
• Ecrire
• Faire des balades en amoureux
• Voyager
• Regarder The Killing, The Walking Dead et Touch
• Mais bon, je vais devoir attendre la fin du Maltt pour faire tout cela

Et le Maltt dans tout cela ?

Je suis là parce que depuis deux ans et demi je suis cheffe d'un projet de mise en place d'un cours de bureautique en e-learning à l'Ifage : la Bureautique sur mesure. Pendant mon coursus dans le Maltt, je compte acquérir d'autres compétences concernant les formations en e-learning pour pouvoir exploiter ces connaisances professionnellement.
