We define integrated learning environments as systems that combine software. E.g. a learning management systems with computer simulations and learning e-portfolios. Another example would be classroom management software that includes interactive learning activities.
A yet different view is that of a "paperless classroom". Since paper is used for text books, student activities (writing/drawing) and management, i.e. different elements that require integration.
