Term project COAP 2100

Task: Create a little website

  1. Define some clear objectives and requirements for your term project
  2. Implement the website with an online service

Constraints:

  1. You should use one of the following online services:
  2. As a general rule, your website should include between 4 and 6 subpages. A well-designed webtop can use less, blogs should include at least 3 posts plus some extra information (e.g. some useful "gadgets").
  3. You should select a theme that fits the purpose of your web site
  4. You must shortly spell out the objectives, the target audience and other requirements. You may use a subpage, a widget or any other device for that.

Note:

  • If your project is ambitious, you may just fill in the most important pages (e.g. the welcome message) and provide 3-4 examples.

Evaluation criteria:

  • Presence of objectives (i.e. can a user figure out what they are ?)
  • Does the result fit your objectives
  • Overall coherence and ergonomics
  • Contents: Do they look "real" ?
  • Style
  • Technical quality (e.g. no broken links)
  • Presentation (including questions you may have to answer regarding the above points)
  • On time (that includes your presentation in class !)

Submission

  • Due: Monday week 6, before start of class
  • Submit an URL to the Worldclassroom "Term project" assignment
  • In addition, each student must shortly present his/her project on Monday week 8. You will have to present the website and its purpose (do not prepare any presentation materials, e.g. PPTs)
