Stitch Era includes an extension module that allows creating hotfix designs. It allows filling areas with holes for hotfix stones according to various parameters. The design then can be sent to a vinyl cutter or a laser cutter to create a template.

The principle for creating a hotfix design is the same as creating embroidery areas. Instead of filling with a stich patter, areas will be filled with holes. The template can be "filled" witch strass as explained in the Hotfix stone‎‎ article. Once in place, the stones can be transferred on a textile and finally be heat pressed with a hot iron or (better) a heat press. Of course, one can combine embroidery and hotfix (print the embroidery first, of course).
