The principle for creating a hotfix design is the same as creating embroidery areas. Instead of filling with a stich patter, areas will be filled with holes.
The template can be "filled" witch strass as explained in the [[Hotfix stone‎‎ ]] article. Once in place, the stones can be transferred on a textile and finally be heat pressed with a hot iron or (better) a [[heat press]].

Of course, one can combine embroidery and hotfix (print the embroidery first, of course).
