Lucy Tengeye is Kenyan. Lucy is an Education in Emergencies (EiE) Specialist with more than 17 years’ work experience designing, researching, mentoring, tutoring, implementing, managing, monitoring and evaluating EiE programs in cross-cultural settings and refugee camps; coordinating education clusters and building capacity of partners and education officials in EiE and other cross-cutting issues in education. Lucy has worked in several EiE settings both in poor rural, informal settlements, Arid and Semi Arid Lands, and refugee camps in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Canada respectively with different agencies including the UNHCR, Lutheran World Federation, Windle Trust, African Canadian Continuing Education Society (ACCES), Daraja Civic Initiatives, Women Educational Researchers of Kenya (WERK), and the Ministry of Education. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), a Master of Science (MSC) in Disaster Management and Sustainable Development from Masinde Muliro University of Science Technology (MMUST); a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University(KU), and is trained on CAS Education in Emergencies (UNIGE), Conflict Sensitive Education (UNESCO/IIEP); and strengthening alternative Non-Formal Education for youth and adults in education sector plans (UNESCO/IIEP). She is currently undertaking CAS Digital Learning in Emergencies (DLiE) at UNIGE. She is passionate about EiE and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the CAS program. She loves dancing and interacting with all from other cultures across the globe
