Online instructior for high school students attending school on the Pine Ridge Reservation where we all live and learn. All my students are Lakota, and have the opportunity to advance in credits through online courses that cover academic requirements, electives and AP (advanced placement) course work with dual enrollment for college credit. Elective course I have developed for my students: CERT (community emergency response teams); Lakota Speech and Presentation (use of script writing, traditional native speakers analyzed and script writing for student presentation on Mustang TV); Lakota Youth Leadership (group process on develop healthy life & learning skills for academic success and mood management); TV/Video Production Workshop (for hands on learning) and Reporting or Journalism: What is the difference? Currently developing a Lakota Traditional Plants course that will include wildcrafting and tending a garden.
