Soldier and Teacher at first; then lifelong commercial and mathematical programmer, analyst, team leader and manager. Total of 47 continuous years in the IT industry, most as freelance contractor. Started as machine-code programmer on ICT 1300 series in 1965; finished as Senior Tech Business Analyst (Insurance Billing SME) with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Sydney 2005-2009 and Senior Data Analyst (Network Technology) with TELSTRA, Sydney til Christmas 2011, when I retired. Team Manager/Project Manager, non-fail 24/7 Mainframe Support (Telecoms WholeSale Billing + major enhancement) Vodafone Australia, Sydney, OZ 2001 [9 staff]; 4. Senior Tech Analyst & Subject Matter Expert (Insurance Billing, Statements, Letters) on 3 consecutive migrations from Fujitsu 3980 to IBM AS400.
