Barbara Class obtained, in August 2009, her PhD from TECFA, Faculty of Psychology and Education, University of Geneva. The dissertation's title: A blended socio-constructivist course with an activity-based, collaborative learning environment intended for trainers of conference interpreters was conducted on the field of interpreting at the Faculté de Traduction et d’Interprétation where she acts as pedagogical advisor since 2004. She also teaches qualitative research methodology courses both at FTI and TECFA.
