Position paper on using online discussion forums to developing critical thinking

Problem

This position paper argues in favour of the need to develop critical thinking (CT) skills through a structured online discussion forum (ODF). Educators must effectively employ, and encourage participation in ODFs by identifying, scaffolding and facilitating higher order thinking skills and dispositions in all learners.
