Defininition

Awareness is an understanding of the activities of others, which provides a context for your own activity. An awaress tool scaffolds awareness.

Kinds of tools

There are several kinds:

WYSIWIS tools

  • WYSIWITYS: What you see is what I think you see" is a property that can help technology support realtime interaction between physically separated users. The WYSIWITYS property is a natural consequence of adhering to a physical world metaphor.
  • WYSIWIS: What you see is what I see. This is more constrained symmetrical version of WYSIWITYS.
