Margaret holds a Master’s of Arts Degree (Rural Sociology and Community Development)from the University of Nairobi University of Nairobi [1] and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Moi University [2]. She has over 15 years’ experience working in the education and child safeguarding sectors. Margaret has expansive skills working in humanitarian and development sectors and has worked closely and in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Teachers Service Commission officials in ensuring government priorities as captured in SGD 4 of ensuring access, retention and transition of learners are achieved. She has apt mobilization, negotiation, networking and collaboration skills which are evident in the many ways she is able to engage different players, including partners in areas of interest. She is a good planner, is result oriented with good analytical and interpersonal skills. Under child safeguarding and protection, Margaret has great experience in designing and implementing programs that ensure children and vulnerable adults’ rights are safeguarded. At the organization level, she is the child and gender safeguarding focal point. Margaret effectively represents her organization in many network forums and meetings such as in the Education in Emergency working (EiE) group meetings, Child Protection in Emergency(CPiE) and is trained in Child Protection in Emergency. Currently she is undergoing a training in Digital Literacy in Emergency with the University of Geneva.
