About myself

Enas al-Said, 2019

An educational practitioner with a thirst for knowledge and creativity. I am a small person, but my dreams are larger than life. I worked as an education program manager for more than 7 years in different INGOs and I am currently working as a senior policy advisor on basic education, social protection and MHPSS at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan. I am currently enrolled in University of Geneva and studying Digital Learning in Emergencies Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) and expecting to acquire the certificate by 2022. In August 2020, I obtained the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Education in Emergencies from University of Geneva. My professional experience includes project management for education projects, youth, women's health, and child protection.

Through my work in various local NGOs and INGOs, I have participated in proposal writing for different donors, including British Council and DFID, and supported the capacity building of the team and other partners in donor reporting processes of narrative and financial nature. Some of the donor reports included UNICEF, ECHO, DFID, DFAT, DFATD and Dutch-funded basic education programs like Porticus. I have also supported sub-grants teams for local NGOs and CBOs as needed in the development, management, and reporting of sub-grants with the local and regional partners. Throughout my work with NRC and INTERSOS, I had the chance to apply my previous experience in project management and team management both in camp settings and host community, as well as cross borders in south Syria in 2019. I was part of designing the education strategy for both NRC Jordan and Syria programme, and have done several monitoring and evaluation activities, such as designing data collection tools for outcome indicators, and following up on data reporting. During my four years at Jordan Breast Cancer Programme, i have designed educational training materials of health content on raising awareness among women on the importance of early detection for breast cancer, conducted awareness sessions and training of health educators, and managed the October campaign on breast cancer and managed annual conferences. I have a vast experience in managing different projects in different contexts, but my level of coordination and management is constant.

During my free time, I like to read and sing. I love music and working with children, and I work as a part time course instructor teaching children mental math using the abacus, a calculating tool which has been used since ancient times to apply mathematical calculations. I have also participated as a coach for children in national UCMAS competitions with Thaka Jordan since 2013 and in India in 2015 for the International 14th UCMAS competition.
