Introduction
This (future) page should include a short introduction and lists of good resources for people who develop mobile applications. Applications themselves should go into specialized pages, e.g. members of the Mobile computing category, or else topic-oriented pages.
What is mobile ?
"Mobile computing" can refer to the use of any device that can be carried, e.g.:
- laptops
- Simple Cell phones
- Smartphones
- Tablets
- E-book readers
- Gaming consoles
- Very small and light laptops (Netbooks)
- Some combinations of the above or all of the above.
"Mobile computing" also could refer to the mobile user.
A good definition probably includes both, e.g. something like: "Mobile computing is where a user can be physically mobile and at the same time access non-trivial applications/services. In addition, these applications could adapt to the user's situation.
