Introduction

PowerSchool Learning (formerly known as Haiku) is an online Learning Management System service.

Drag & Drop environment to organize a class website (Text, Files, Links, Photos, Audio, Video), Events, Calendar, Assignments. etc. For teachers, their students and parents.

Haiku used to be free for: 1 class/1MB storage (all features included, no advertisements). We did not check the new version branded under powerschool learning - (02:13, 5 November 2017 (CET)~)

See also e-learning 2.0 and list of web 2.0 applications for an overview of other systems

Features

Haiku is fairly easy to use (very easy to use compared to a typical LMS like Moodle or WebCT/VISTA)

A class is organized through pages that contain blocks you can place with and "add content button" and they can be reorganized.

For the layout you may choose between 1 column, even 2 columns, uneven or even 3 columns. Blocks can be moved by simple dragging. E.g. you typically can put readings (uploaded files), links and calendar to the right column.

  • On page texts
  • Files (you can upload any format)
  • Images, Audio, Video
  • Import blocks from Flickr ODE and YouTube.
  • Calendar
  • Assessment
  • Announcement
  • Insertion of most web 2.0 widgets. This is a really important feature since it allows to expand learning activities in many ways. See the list of web 2.0 applications many of which are available as widgets.

You can add and manage students. There is a possibility to load a CSV file: FirstName, midlle,Last,Suffix,Nickname,Email,Student ID. The class also can be opened to parents.
