1 Definition
- A learning activity is a building brick in a larger pedagogical scenario. There is no precise definition (see also the debate on how to define a learning object where we face exactly the issue of defining its scope)
- DSchneider uses learning activity as synonym for a self-contained pedagogical scenario or a learning unit that is part of a larger unit (e.g. a course).
See also pedagogical scenario
2 Activities in instructional design
- Many modern instructional design models put activities at center stage.
- Accordingly, educational modeling languages follow the same trend, e.g. see IMS Learning Design
