Scenario for module 4

Open Education

  1. Activity 1: Open Education and Open Science

Activities will include reading the blog post by Paul Stacey to identify how the different Opens are entangled. Downloading both recommendations on Open Science and on OER from the resources and carefully reading through. Identify why OER are present in both recommendations. Choose one passage of either recommendation and annotate it, i.e., commenting on what is relevant and/or challenging for your own context. Contribute to the collaborative annotation with your own comment of the chosen passage

  • Identify key ideas of leading recommendations towards Open by UNESCO
  • Comment UNESCO’s Open Educational Resources (OER) recommendation

2. Activity 2: Open Educational Resources

Activities will involve exploring the different resources with regard to CC and the 5R of using OER. Consulting the backdrop resources. Writing a report on the possibilities of using CC licenses and other Open licenses for educational purposes in your context and identifying which is the best suitable.

  • Present the 5R characteristics of OER
  • Describe the different Creative Commons (CC) licenses and their specificities
  • Discuss the relationships between the 5R and CC licenses with the backdrop of given resources

3. Activity 3: Open Educational Practices

The activities will involve completing the Open educator inventory. Learning about Open Educational Practices. Reading and understand two competences frameworks. Analyzing the inventory’s questions, the table and the advice for improvement and writing a short critical report, focusing on the relevance of this tool.
