I am an Adjunct Professor at a Midwestern United States University. I am exploring broadening our Technology Education approaches and found this site. I will be ghosting for some time, reading and learning before I try to add anything to the mix.

Thanks

HI !

Welcome :)

EduTechWiki is very weak in the area of technology education ... unless you are just looking for some technical tutorials (i.e. technology that I teach), but I wouldn't call anything of that "approaches to technology education". Of course, there is an inventory of what I call instructional design models, but these are general purpose and not geared towards technology education. I actually do plan to go over that stuff sometimes in 2012. Hasn't been updated for two years or so ...

Btw. I got some ideas about technology education in schools: I suggest moving way from teaching mail, HTML and other light-weight stuff and teach digital design and fabrication instead. This would allows learners to create more meaningful objects, to learn how to deal with complex software and even some programming which isn't taught in school anymore. Email, social web and such should be taught in civic education IMHO and not as technical subjects.

Anyhow, if one day you "feel adding to the mix" do it as you like. There are almost no editorial rules :)
