Picciano multimodal model for online education
Picciano's (2017) multimodal (component) model for online education is a component model that identifies “elements that might be needed for an integrated or unified theory or model for online education.” (p. 182).
The seven components, as the author illustrates, then can be used to describe various setups in terms of which elements are present, and how each one is implemented.
